Finding Delight in Despair
A Zoom Workshop on Pleasure
Sunday October 25
1 PM - 3 PM ET / 10 AM - 12 PM PT
Do you find yourself living in an “unprecedented time”? Us too.
Are you overwhelmed with the everyday exhaustion of existing during a global pandemic and political chaos? Have you been spending all your free time doom-scrolling and preparing for events you have no control over? Do you fear for your life?
How have you been finding pleasure during these times? Has it felt impossible? Or, maybe you're worried you're enjoying yourself a little too much?
In this workshop, facilitators Raina LaGrand (she/her LMSW, MPH, CYT) and Michael Gendernalik (they/them MSW) will help you explore your possibilities for finding pleasure, comfort and connection even in the midst of despair. We will explore definitions and expressions of pleasure, as well as individual and systemic barriers to pleasure. Using multiple mediums and skill-share opportunities with other community members also experiencing the world today, you’ll gain a more nuanced understanding of pleasure and your own relationship to it. You’ll leave with your own ‘Pleasure Plan' and hopefully a refreshed perspective on being in your body during these unsettling times.
We are happy to provide a few different options for payment in order to make our program more accessible. When selecting your payment option please consider your resources and positionality.
